The HFC, where houses the bishop, the aged and infirmed clergy, and the young and active clerics.

The Chapel of the Home for the Clergy was located at the Ground Floor of the Structure.

We dedicated our chapel in honor of the Patron Saints of all the Clergy around the world, St. John Mary Vianney. We celebrated our Fiesta every 4th day of August, where the clergy gathered and celebrate. We sponsors game and programs for the enjoyment of every clergy.

Our Lady of Peñafrancia, the Patron of Bicolandia will never be out of our list. She was given a place in our chapel to honor her.

Inside our chapel, you can see our beautiful but not yet finished patio, where you can relaxed and perfect for meditations.

This is our pation, originnally it was planned to have a fountain at the center, but due to financial restraint, future development will be delayed.

And of course, our dining room, where a silent witness of every happy Meals.

Finnally, the construction was finished, with the help of various generous donor both local, national, and abroad

The Inauguration was finally set. April 16, 2007, Monday, at 10:AM with the Blessing of the Chapel of St. John Mary Vianney and the rest of the House. A Fraternal Banquet follows at 12:00NN






The Most Rev. Leonardo Legazpi, OPD, DD, was the main celebrant during the Inaugural Mass and the Blessing of the Chapel










The Inaugural Mass was celebrated at the New Chapel of St. John MAry Vianney, located at the Ground Floor of the Home for the Clergy Bldg.











Five Bishops from different Diocese of the Bicol Region came to and joined the concelebrated mass together with the Clergy of the Diocese and other Priest from diffrent part of the Philippines.

Arch Eriberto V. Aguirre, together with his family joined us during the celebration. He was the Architect whom we are thankful that designed this edifice.

Engr. Manuel Santos, with his wife also came to witness the event. Engr. Santos was the Structural Engineer who was responsible for the Structural Design of the HOme for the Clergy.





The very generous Mr. Eddie Castro, a balikbayan from USA. who happened to be one of our donors came and be one of our guest.

OUR VISION . . .

THE HFC VISION. . .

1. The HFC Shall be the venue of formation for all lay leaders ( Pastoral Institute) as required by the Diocesan Ecclesial and Evangelization Program (DEEP) of the Diocese of Sorsogon. The DEEP's vision statements to make " the diocese become a local church where faith and life are integrated, where justice is the norm of societal life and where authentic Christian families are formed through an effective organization, properly managed resources and sufficient program of formation." Hence, the HFC shall be the venue of retreats, seminars, conference, general assemblies, and conventions in line with the full implementation of the Pastoral Program.
2. The HFC shall be the venue for political renewal by introducing the politics of common goods, politics of moral character and politics of respect for human rigths.
3. The HFC shall be the venue for technical and vocational education to give better employment for the school drop-outs and the less privileged. Several scholarship program shall be made available to highly deserving students.
4. The HFC shall be the venue for enterpreneurial development to assist individual towards self-relience and economic independence.
5. The HFC shall be the venue for the promoation of health and sanitation awareness among the local populace to prevent, if not eradicate, the spread of communicable diseases.
6. The HFC Shall be the venue for ecological awareness to promote sustainable development within the countryside.
7. The HFC shall be the retirement home for the aged and the infirm, a regular home for the young and the active clerics and the residence of the diocesan bishop. It shall be the home where lay leaders of the Church, when overburdened and stressed by work in their pastoral minitries, will go to rest, pray, unwind and be energized through evaluation, nalysis of pastoral activities and defining total human development.

Where can you find us?

The Diocese of Sorsogon is located in the Southernmost tip of Luzon Island. Philippines, and is part of the Bicol Region considered among the poorest in the Country. It was created and erected on June 21, 1951 comprising the province of Sorsogon. It has a total area of 2,141 sq. kilometers ( 1338.37 sq. miles) It has 16 towns all coastal except one. It comprises 27 parishes with resident pastors. The population is 540,734; 85% of which are CAtholics. Sorsogon City alone has a population of about 147,000 people. Fishing and farming are the people's main source of income.

The Home for the Clergy in the Diocese of Sorsogon stands at the Center of the Our Lady of Peñafrancia Seminary Compound in Barangay Bibincahan, City of Sorsogon. It is located along the highway going to Bacon District, about 2 kilometers from the City of Sorsogon.
